I am cutting the VW bug’s bottom plate to match the wooden platform. I have drawn the outline of the platform on the steel and will use the platform as a cuting guide. I moved the platform away from the line about 1/4″ so that the plasma cutting tip would line up with the markings.
What sort of plasma cutter are you using?

I purchased an inexpensive unit on Ebay. It’s an ARC/TIG welder as well as a plasma cutter. I have found that it does just about everything I want it to do. I believe it’s a CT416D. I did, however, have to install a 40A breaker to make it work properly. The Ebay item number is 150371944007. Hope this helps good luck with whatever project you are attempting. Tim
