The e-brakes have now been cabled up and I got my new rebuilt steering rack in. I have installed the steering rack and it works very good. I have a lot to do before I can put the VW bug body back on.
I now have a painted rolling chassis. It indeed looks a whole lot better with paint. The now slow and steady march to assembly starts with the parking brakes. I have to shorten the cables so I cut them and will fray and soldier the ends to the correct length.

I am basically ready to paint the upper half of the frame. I have filled and sanded down everything that needs it. All I have to do is wipe the frame down and apply the primer.
One step closer to paint. I now have all the holes drilled in the rear fire-wall as well as getting the shifter cables lined up. I need to strip it all down and get ready for paint.

Before I can paint the top of the frame there is a couple of things I gotta do. The e-brake cable run partially inside the frame and partially outside. So I am creating a couple of brackets to hold the nylon cable guides to route the cables to the lever assembly.
Now that the botom of the frame has been painted, I can turn it back over, upright. There are a couple of things left to do before paint.
