With the priming and filling complete, I can now spray on the Eastwood heavy duty chassis paint. I have given the paint about a week to fully cure so now it’s time to start bolting things back on. I have reinstalled the front running gear so that the frame can roll back over the engine and drive-chain. I need to lift and drop the frame slowly back in place. Hopefully nothing will get damaged.

Finish priming the custom VW bug chassis #360
Finally paint. I can finally put paint to frame. This has been a long time coming. I hope I didn’t forget anything. The primer is Eastwood’s rust encapsulator to insure that the frame will not rust. The primer has been forced, as best I could, into all the cracks and crevices. I will now need to paint it with Eastwood’s heavy duty chassis paint.

Finish cutting pass-through holes in VW bug frame #358
Start cutting pass-through holes in rear fire-wall #357
I need to drill out the holes in the rear fire-wall for various tubes. There is a gas tank filler neck tube, two holes for the heater core runs, two holes for the A/C runs, one hole for the hydraulic clutch line and one for the rear brake line. Once all these holes have been drilled I can continue on with the painting.
