Start cutting pass-through holes in rear fire-wall #357

I need to drill out the holes in the rear fire-wall for various tubes. There is a gas tank filler neck tube, two holes for the heater core runs, two holes for the A/C runs, one hole for the hydraulic clutch line and one for the rear brake line. Once all these holes have been drilled I can continue on with the painting.

Before I can paint the top of the frame there is a couple of things I gotta do. The e-brake cable run partially inside the frame and partially outside. So I am creating a couple of brackets to hold the nylon cable guides to route the cables to the lever assembly.

I now have the e-brake cable sheaths mounted to the VW bug’s bottom plate. The next step is to locate and drill out the holes that will allow the e-brake cables to pass through the bottom plate. I will work on the nylon guides once I turn the frame upright again.

Now that I have my mounting locations for the e-brake cable ends, I have welded on the nuts that will hold everything in place. I am constructing two plates that will hold the cable ends in place using the factory indentions to insure that they stay solid.

Now that I have the e-brake mount locations, I am going to weld nuts to the bottom of the frame to hold the e-brake cable mounts. I will also be constructing small ramps to protect the mounts. Small steps to get the final product.
